Shailene is an American actress and activist. She became popular with her performance as Alexandra "Alex" King, an teen struggling with addiction issues in The Descendants. In the wake of her stellar performances on The Descendants, she came up with other appearances which showed her capability to play difficult roles with ease. The early success of Shailene's career in the movie industry is impressive. The path she took began with commercials and TV shows however, she quickly moved into Hollywood films. She's won numerous acting prizes for her skills including The MTV Movie Awards and People's Choice Awards. Some other prestigious awards like The BAFTA Awards and Golden Globe Awards have also been given to her. Shailene is an actress for several years, however she's also a committed environmentalist. Along with her mother she founded All it Takes as a nonprofit organization in 2010. She received the Entertainment Industry Environmental Leadership Award in 2016 at the 20th Anniversary Global Green Environmental Awards.
