Anamaria Marinca bio

Anamaria Marina is a Romanian actor. Her debut on screen was in her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic in which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award for Best actress. She speaks fluently French, German English, and Romanian. Her mother was a violinist The father of her is a theater professor in one of Romania's top acting schools. The Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008 she was named a European Shooting Star' by the European Film Promotion Board. She was a teacher for four months in the University of Fine Arts Music and Drama George Enescu in Iasi. bAnamaria is an Romanian actress born on April 1, 1978, Iasi Romania. An actress from Romanian descendance, Anamaria Marinca made her debut in the film industry in the TV series British-Canadian Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. Apart from her stellar performance in her debut film, the actress will also be recognized for her performance in the Romanian art-film 4 Months 3 weeks as well as 2 Days which won her numerous awards, like winning the European Film Award for Best Actress London Film Critics. She was the lead in Cristian Mugiu's Romanian film "4 luni 3 saptamani e 2 days" (4 Months Three Weeks and 2 Days) which won her the Palme d'Or award at Cannes Film Festival 2007. It also received two awards in addition, it was awarded the Cinema Prize of French National Education System (FIPRESCI Prize) as well as the Cinema Prize. She also appeared as a character in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. She played Yasim Awar in the BBC's 5 episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca played the role of Yasim Anwar in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven, as well as in the Romanian Drama Boogie. She later as the role of Irma's German Aunt in Fury, which was released in 2014.
