Awkwafina has been described as an American actor and performer who made her name with smart raps that addressed the issues of sexuality and race with a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical journey as a trumpet player. Her birthplace was Forest Hills Queens, she was the daughter of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Jazz, classical and hip-hop education began when she was just a teenager.
